The Customer Markets Retail Energy Regulation team executes a best practice regulatory compliance framework to ensure the effective delivery of high quality outcomes for AGL and its customers.

The Regulatory and Compliance Advisor work closely with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders across the Customer Markets business unit. Providing timely, sound, and strategic advice on all relevant initiatives, ensuring that

AGL meets its regulatory compliance requirements, and play a key part in supporting the delivery of a range of initiatives by providing regulatory advice and compliance expertise on all facets of the retail energy market.

What you’ll be doing
- Delivery of AGL’s external regulatory compliance reporting obligations, as well as associated internal management reporting
- Co-ordinate and assist with investigations and requests for information by regulatory bodies
- Investigate potential compliance incidents, driving appropriate actions to remediate and prevent reoccurrences. Report incidents and near misses as required
- Proactively manage compliance risks and issues, including working with stakeholders to identify and implement appropriate mitigation strategies and sustainable controls
- Providing high quality and solutions orientated regulatory advice on initiatives and processes such as external communications, product development, campaign delivery, marketing collateral and sales processes
- Provide commercially practical advice, which highlights relevant regulatory risks to enable informed decision making by the business
- Executing an ongoing education program to ensure understanding of regulatory obligations.
- Assisting business stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of new regulatory obligations
- Promote a positive compliance culture within Customer Markets where issues and risks are openly raised and discussed, and learnings shared

About You

What you’ll bring to the table
- Experience and/or an interest in a regulatory advisory, compliance, assurance and/or audit role, preferably in the retail energy sector (or other regulated industry).
- Strong literacy skills and experience in the preparation of written reports for senior management and/or external regulatory bodies.
- High attention to detail and driven to present information with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
- Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment and respond and deliver to very short deadlines when required.
- Proven ability to drive collaborative outcomes across cross-functional departments with competing priorities.
- Excellent presenting skills, both oral and written (powerpoint packs, senior management briefings). Ability to distil complex information to achieve outcomes.
- Self-starter, who can self-manage time and priorities.
