The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Assistant Manager to provide a critical role within Victims of Crime Financial Assist Scheme

**About the Business Unit**

The FAS represents a major leap forward in the Victorian Government's response to victims of crime. Established under the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance Scheme) Act 2022 (the Act) the FAS provides financial assistance through a simple and easy to navigate process that is fair, sensitive, and responsive to victims' needs. It acknowledges harm done and is trauma informed, inclusive and culturally safe.

**About the Role**

Some of your duties will include:

- **Lead a team of intake and triage supervisors to deliver quality decision making in a timely and trauma informed way.**:

- **Lead and monitor the Quality Assurance program in the Intake and Triage team**:

- **Undertake work to enhance Aboriginal cultural safety and victim-centred practice as core components of the FAS.**

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:
**Technical Expertise**
- Extensive experience delivering trauma-informed victim support services, with a strong understanding of family violence, sexual assault, and the importance of lived experience and intersectionality in service delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of family violence risk factors and frameworks, including the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills, with the ability to address complex service delivery issues and prepare detailed reports and correspondence.
- Demonstrated commitment to actively pursuing a culturally safe workplace and organisation and improved outcomes for Aboriginal people, aligned with the principle of self-determination.**

**Qualifications**
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in fields related to community and social services, social policy, social work, law, or public administration is desirable.
- An Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) will be required for this role at the expense of the applicant once successfully in the role. Currency is required to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
