After more than 35 years operating as a successful uranium mine, the Ranger Project is entering its rehabilitation stage and offers an exciting opportunity for you to make a positive impact on the environment.

ERA has engaged the global engineering firm, Bechtel, to support ERA as Delivery Partner for ongoing study work.

Bechtel will be working alongside ERA and major stakeholder Rio Tinto to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. A collaborative project, this project will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.

Located 8 km east of Jabiru and 260 km south-east of Darwin, the Ranger Project will lead the way in the fast-growing area of mining closures.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for **a Senior Purchasing (Procurement) Specialist** to join Bechtel’s Mining & Metals ERA Project team in **Brisbane. **This is a Buyer / Expeditor role whereby the individual will have responsibility of the procurement from formation through delivery and closeout of the agreement.

As you will be required to effectively liaise with project Supply Chain personnel, corporate groups, global business unit contracts personnel, and functional supervisors, as well as maintains relationships with bidders and contractor personnel, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can work collaboratively and inclusively.

While the position will be based in Brisbane initially, there is potential that the role will be required to mobilise to the jobsite (Jabiru, Northern Territory) in the future as required by the project.

**Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)**
- Performs tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders.
- Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel and the customer’s organization to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions.
- Prepares bidder pre-qualifications, bidder lists, negotiation plans, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order administration.
- Understands and executes work in accordance with the project sourcing strategy, work instructions and procedures.
- Accountable to ensure appropriate approval authorities are obtained prior to executing commitments.
- Accountable to the project schedule to include planning and executing own work during the pre-award phase of purchase orders and post award administration of procurements.
- Responsible for assigned orders from development through closure, to include engagement with Engineering/Construction on purchase requisition development, the acquisition and delivery of purchases including supplier submittals, and order closeout; to include supporting management of back charges and claims.
- Prepares and organizes assigned Procurement-sponsored meetings, such as bid clarification and post-award meetings, for ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and supplier on all purchase order matters for assigned packages. After reviewing plan and agenda with supervisor, conducts meeting and prepares and issues meeting notes delineating important statements, required actions and schedules.
- Updates material status reports for area of responsibility.
- Expedites timely supplier submittals, internal reviews, and return to supplier. Reports material and submittal status to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Attends project status meetings, when requested, and reports status of area of responsibility.
- Responsible to maintain supplier relationships with supplier’s project personnel executing orders to ensure performance of the work.
- Is familiar with the project’s estimate baseline for assigned packages and identifies respective Trends, as required.
- Accountable for integrity of records management for assigned work.
- Responsible to oversee supplier performance and initiate appropriate notices, including notices of back charges/claims for assigned packages.
- Contributes to the establishment of project-level goals.
