**Key duties and responsibilities include**: - Allocate, prioritise and perform tasks in accordance with departmental procedures and statutory, financial and administrative delegations. - Actively participate in the Learning and Development team and contribute to strategic and operational planning, reviews and key decision-making. Provide development, brokerage and coordination of high-quality learning and development and specialist support services that are responsive to the needs of staff. Deliver and facilitate learning and development programs and schedules for Youth Justice staff in line with assessed workforce needs, contemporary professional practice and adult learning principles. Manage a range of complex projects in relation to the successful implementation and evaluation of learning and development initiatives for Youth Justice. Work closely with youth justice management and staff in detention centres, service centres and central office to effectively coordinate training initiatives. - Prepare complex submissions, reports, briefs and correspondence to senior executive staff and governance processes, in relation to the learning and development strategies and programs. Provide advice and support to the Director and other Learning and Development stakeholders on a range of learning and development issues. - Promote a positive public image for the department, through supporting and maintaining partnerships with clients and non-Government agencies. Liaise and consult with staff and other stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective coordination and delivery of learning and capability development activities and outputs. Effectively lead, supervise and manage staff to create a workforce culture that values learning and development and the achievement of the department's vision, values and objectives. Lead engagement with people from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds as well as demonstrating an appreciation of cultural protocols and an awareness of the impacts of historical policies and practices to ensure culturally appropriate training and other services.Employees must be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with the department's COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements.You must provide one of the following types of evidence for the hiring manager to sight before an offer of employment will be made: - written confirmation of COVID-19 vaccination provided as part of the vaccination process, such as a record of vaccine card
- vaccination information displayed on the Check in QLD app
- a COVID-19 digital certificate

- an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate for overseas travel.
Experience within a youth justice setting (or similar) is highly desirable.
Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 including the Language literacy and numeracy unit) is highly desirable
