Eilbeck Heavy Machining is a key and stand-alone division of Eilbeck Cranes heavily focused on Heavy engineering - contract manufacturing for various industries such as mining, rail, general engineering etc. Eilbeck Heavy Machining is a 100% Australian owned 4th generation family business. With the growth in the manufacturing division at Eilbeck, there is an increasing demand for an array of contract general engineering equipment to be manufactured by Eilbeck Heavy Machining. All work predominately jobbing and low quantity manufacturing.

Due to current expansion at Eilbeck Heavy Machining and the establishment of our second CNC machining facility, we are seeking to employ a Quality Control Inspector in our Heavy Machine Shop.

About the Job:
Quality Controller will monitor and manage the quality level of the Eilbeck Machining by monitoring performance levels of the company. The quality controller is responsible for ensuring in-process and final assembled parts meet or exceed the minimum established quality levels. Further responsible for ensuring procedures are followed, resolving quality related issues with our customers and employees; the generation of reports, tracking of data and the recommendation of process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure that the Eilbeck Machining is meeting customer requirements of Quality and Delivery
- Resolve Quality related issues by coordinating with appropriate people, departments and or personnel immediately
- Monitor NCR database trends
- Ensure accurate and clear documentation in the NCR system
- Drive accountability by attaching names to the quality problems (inspectors, machines, suppliers)
- Create and implement Quality Metrics & Utilize metrics as a tool for continuous improvement.
- Verify incoming products to ensure products are per purchase orders and customer requirements.
- Verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using micrometres, callipers, height gauges, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or other specialized measuring instruments.
- Verify in process, final inspection and processing operations to customer specifications.
- Maintain and ensure the calibration of precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, height gauges and other measuring devices.
- Ensure the right people are working on the right job at all times
- Optimize utilization of manpower and equipment
- Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor.
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
- Surface quality problems and make sure they are resolved through corrective action process.
- Drive Quality forward to the production process level.
- Be aware of machine repair, maintenance and predictive maintenance to minimize machine downtime and increase output and productivity
- Engage employees to maintain a safe work environment by taking a preventive approach to eliminating the root cause for potential injuries and promote safety policies and awareness.
- Follow and comply with Eilbeck Cranes QA policy and procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Related Quality Control Inspector qualification
- Self-motivated, detail oriented with quick decision-making capabilities.
- Good operational knowledge of CNC machines, from programming to parts measurement, tolerances to CMM reports
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- High level understanding of manufacturing processes
- Very strong communication skills.
- Previous experience as Quality Control Inspector within manufacturing industry.
- Organizational ability and ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Customer service orientation
