About You
The Team Leader LAC reports to the Service Area Manager and leads a team of Local Area Coordinators (LACs). They are responsible for ensuring their team delivers high-quality services to people with disabilities aged nine and above, empowering them to have choice and control over their lives. The Team Leader ensures the team follows NDIA and SSI policies, meets or exceeds program KPIs and quality standards, and supports individual capacity-building projects. They handle reporting, incident management, while demonstrating strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills. The role requires adaptability, working under pressure, and fostering a person-centered, accountable team culture.
**Responsibilities**:
- Coach and mentor a team of LACs in the provision of support to people with disability (their families and carers) and communities underpinned by the LAC approach.
- Allocate and monitor LAC workloads, work volume and respond to required tasks to achieve performance and quality targets across the team whilst managing staff wellbeing and upholding a high standard of customer satisfaction.
- Act as an escalation point for complaints / complex queries and issues.
- Work in partnership with members of the leadership team to connect with the strategic vision of the program and identify opportunities to better support people with disability, their families, and carers towards greater awareness and inclusion
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local external stakeholders, individuals, families and carers to inform and deliver community capacity building projects and activities.
- Shift with the changes of the NDIS and business and support the team to work in a flexible, innovative and individualised ways to connect people with disability to supports that best meet their needs.

Essential Criteria
- Relevant qualifications in human services or community development
- Demonstrated experience leading a high performing team in a challenging service environment.
- Lived experience or awareness of the impact of disability upon individuals, families, carers and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure cultural consideration of the needs of people and families from CALD communities in service access and delivery.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and in a range of locations across a local area when required
