What’s the job?
Reporting to the Executive Dean of Health & Education, the Head of Nursing is responsible for leading the academic delivery of the Nursing portfolio of courses and managing their team within a ‘Be Good’ ethos, emphasising academic quality, strong and collegial teamwork and positive student outcomes. This is a national role that may have responsibility across the Australia and New Zealand (TGE) region.
- Day-to-day accountabilities:
- Manage the operations and delivery of the Nursing program portfolio in partnership with the Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching), Curriculum Leaders, Coordinators, and Academic Services Managers.-
- Oversight and accountability for all quality measures in the programs including student outcomes (retention and attrition, progression and graduation); measures to ensure assessment quality (moderation, examination board, oversight of RPL processes) and measures to assess and support high quality learning (communities of practice, peer review of teaching, and review of Student Evaluation Data (SESL & QILT).-
- Responsibility for the execution of all internal academic processes within the program(s) in partnership with the Academic Services Manager, adhere to institutional policies and standards-
- In conjunction with the Curriculum Leaders, ensure compliance and academic excellence in the program(s) exceeds requirements by all relevant regulatory frameworks (TEQSA, AQSA, AMNAC, AHPRA) and bodies. This includes ongoing professional body and business accreditation-
- Manage Vocational Education and Training (VET - Diploma Nursing) courses-

Who you are:
- Hold the AQF equivalent level of 9 (minimum), preferably PhD or equivalent-
- Solid experience in provision of high-quality leadership in tertiary education-
- Solid experience with ANMAC accreditation processes-
- Significant experience in HE environment and in the VET sector.Proven ability to effectively lead, motivate and influence others, especially in teaching and research excellence-
- Experience in leading change and innovation within an academic or business environment-
- Exceptional relationship building skills to enhance TGE Australia’s brands with internal and external stakeholders-
- Superior verbal and written communication skills including excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skillsWhy join us?
