Occupational Health Advisor

**About the role**:
Reporting to the National Safety Manager, you will contribute to the successful implementation of health promotion strategies and maintaining health services for InfraBuild businesses across Newcastle.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

- Providing professional allied health support / advice to key stakeholders to inform decisions relating to worker health and wellness, fitness for work, and injury management processes
- Conducting formal workplace assessments of equipment and processes
- Planning and scheduling Occupational Health Surveillance programs and processes
- Conducting occupational health screening as part of pre-employment and periodic medical examinations
- Contributing to the development and coordination of strategies for the business health and wellbeing program
- Managing relationships with medical and rehabilitation service providers
- Managing the regular doctor’s clinic and providing direct support to the retained company GP and Physiotherapist
- Conduct of the random on-site drug and alcohol testing program

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Allied Health Professional qualification e.g. Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist
- Current AHPRA registration
- Demonstrated experience providing occupational health services for industry / manufacturing clients
- Ability to conduct occupational health screenings including audiometry, vision, spirometry, vital sign checks and urinalysis, drug and alcohol testing (qualifications desirable)
- Ability to conduct workplace assessments / ergonomic assessments
- Ability to provide professional advice/ training on occupational health issues including injury management, manual handling/ergonomics, healthy lifestyle and injury prevention
