Job Description

Do you thrive on building a strong safety culture and making a real difference to people’s wellbeing at work? We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our team in Inverell on a 12-month maternity leave contract.

This is your chance to step into a pivotal role where you’ll be the go-to person for safety – guiding, coaching, and working hand-in-hand with our people and leaders to ensure everyone goes home safe, every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Champion a positive safety culture and bring safety to life across the site.
- Support teams to identify hazards and risks, and make sure the right controls are in place.
- Provide practical advice on WHS legislation and best practice.
- Drive continuous improvements in safety performance and lead indicators.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Maintain registers for hazardous substances, dangerous goods, and equipment.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, finding ways to prevent them happening again.
- Support Safety Committee meetings and engage with Health & Safety Representatives.

What We’re Looking For

- A Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (minimum).
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, codes, and standards.
- Experience in a similar role (experience in food manufacturing is an advantage).
- Confidence in leading or supporting incident investigations (ICAM, STAMP, CAST or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to connect with all levels of the workforce.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and solid administrative skills.
- A collaborative team player with a genuine commitment to safety.

Why Join Us?

- Play a vital role in keeping our people safe and supported.
- Be part of a collaborative team that values respect and continuous improvement.
- Gain exposure to a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow your experience.
- Enjoy the support of a company that genuinely cares about its people.

If you’re ready to take ownership of safety, influence positive change, and make your mark in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
