An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
**Designer** to join a dynamic team at FINE-DAY.

Reporting to the Creative Director, this role is responsible for the sourcing, development and ranging of the Home, Textile & Accessories categories. This includes liaising with external suppliers, sourcing products from local and

overseas suppliers.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Source, range and sketch and in conjunction with the Planner & Design Manager, quantify the home / têxtile
and accessories collection across all classes, ensuring that the product mix is balanced
- Communicate and liaise with factories, suppliers and agents in order to develop and produce required
products
- Attend supplier product development meetings
- Negotiate best possible costs with factories, suppliers and agents in order to achieve first margin targets
- Maximise sales within season by reordering bestsellers as required and maintaining stock of key lines in
conjunction with Planner
- Ensure that all styles placed maintain FINE-DAY quality and styling standards, and reinforce the brand position
- Maintain a strong awareness of competitors and marketplace

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar design role.
- Relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design or Fashion & Textiles is preferred
- Comprehensive Adobe Suite knowledge, proficient in illustrator.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience
- Technical Knowledge/Textile Knowledge
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience liaising with offshore vendors
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- On-site in St Kilda Rd offices 5 days per week.
