**DEPARTMENT**

Health Information Services (HIS) provides medical record document scanning and importing, statutory reporting, Information Release to other health services, transcription and clinical communications across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals.

**POSITION**

Alfred Health's HIS departments have a permanent part-time opportunity in the role of HIS Clerk, primarily based at Caulfield Hospital.

Caulfield HIS includes coverage of the Admissions Office and Switchboard/Reception. In this position, your role will include document collection from clinical areas, preparation, scanning, quality checks, validation, archiving of medical records, information release to other healthcare agencies, and data updates. Other duties included in this role are admitting & discharging inpatients, triaging internal and external calls, timely handling of Emergency phone calls, and directing hospital visitors.

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Demonstrated computer proficiency including MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Teams (foundational)
- Year 12 graduate or relevant experience
