**Your new role**
As a cyber operations manager you will establish and maintain the Department's cyber security operations centre. You will work closely with the Department's IT Security Advisor and Cyber Management to ensure the smooth operation of the Departments security centre deliverables and daily operations are being met.
- Establishing capabilities for the core detection and response activities, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, threat hunting and incident reporting.
- Ensuring the development of people, process and tooling required for the establishment of the CSOC.
- Providing effective leadership and cyber expertise to the cyber team
- Managing a small team of technical resources

**What you'll need to succeed**
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a cyber role is required
- Experience as a cyber operations manager
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills to quickly and creatively deal with threats or flaws in the network
- Experience working in large complex ICT environments with a focus on Microsoft technologies
- Ability to consult with a range of both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian Government Policies and frameworks relating to Government Services
- A Baseline Security clearance or higher and Australian Citizenship
- Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgement
- Be adaptable in an agile environment
- Have the ability to communicate with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
