**About the Business Unit**:
The Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954-bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice and Community Safety.
**About the Role**:
The role of the Offender Management officer at the Metropolitan Remand Centre is to act as a “change agent” by providing support and training to custodial staff regarding the caseworker's role at the Metropolitan Remand Centre. It operates under the guidance and direction of the Offender Management Supervisor.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Assuming a lead role in the support and training of custodial staff in relation to the caseworker's role at MRC, including supporting the management of prisoner behavioural-based regimes and complex case management plans
- Participating in activities that develop an understanding and successful implementation of high-level offender management practices
- Actively participating in the performance management process, delivery of training, coaching and support to prison officers in prisoner assessment, Individual management files (IMF), case management, and program and service knowledge.

**About You**:
- The ability to see things from another's point of view and understanding motivations, needs and wants of stakeholders and their impact on service delivery while tailoring communications according to audience and/or audience preference
- The ability to cnsider words, expression and body language while recognising behaviours that promote a culture of inclusion and taking corrective actions when the behaviours displayed do not promote an inclusive workplace.
**Qualifications**:
- Completion of Prison Pre-Service Training
- Completion or commencement of Certificate 3 in Correctional Practice is desirable
- Demonstrated experience in case management and understanding of the Correction Victoria's Offender Management Framework will be viewed desirable.
