**About the role**
At Catholic Care we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced **Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner **on a permanent full-time (5 days a week) or part-time basis (4 days a week). We can be flexible for the right person The role will be based out of our Waitara Family Centre with an expectation to be able to travel across Northern Sydney region and Central Coast. Catholic Care provides flexible work options.
We understand that this work can be difficult. We therefore focus strongly on maintaining a safe and supportive work culture including emphasising the wellbeing of our team and offering extensive clinical and peer supervision.
The main objective of the role is to support couples undergoing relationship separation, and provide a range of high quality, child focused interventions to families. As part of this role, you will support separating and separated families to reach agreements, and to resolve their disputes related to family law issues, including parenting and property. The role includes risk assessment, case management and mediation, including legally assisted mediation. These services are offered both face to face and online.
You will be part of a collaborative team that works together to ensure effective mechanisms are in place to continually review the program, keeping up to date with changing laws and guidelines to deliver best practice services.
**Key duties**:
- Provide mediation services utilising a variety of mediation models (primarily a co-mediation model in both parenting and property matters) depending on the needs of clients (face to face or online).
- Effectively resolving complex issues with clients in high conflict through safe utilisation of effective strategies and practice as well as through referrals to other services.
- Participate in debriefs, clinical and peer supervision and team meetings.
- Timely entry of data and adherence to client management system requirements.
- Maintain and promote a high level of service by enforcing quality client service standards, analysing, and resolving minor client complaints and following recommended program or system improvements.
- Facilitation of groups or workshops as needed.
**To be successful in this role, you will be required have**:
- Accredited by the Attorney-General’s Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, or law.
- Demonstrated experience in family mediation, child inclusive mediation, group work facilitation and a strong understanding of domestic violence, child protection issues and other complex presentations.
- Knowledge of family law legislation.
- Registration under the National Mediation Accreditation System (NMAS) or working towards this.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and support services.
