About the School
The Gap High has a history of strong academic performances, with students consistently achieving well above state and national benchmarks.
Our school is nestled on an attractive sloping site in the picturesque foothills of Mt Coot-tha and the grounds provide a pleasant environment for students and teachers alike, with parcels of natural bushland rolling grassed areas and a large oval.
Our central location facilitates strong partnerships with our local primary schools and we are also close to the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Queensland.
About the Role
As the Head of Department, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:
Lead the curriculum focus and school department in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
Build partnerships with students, parents, agencies, and community groups.
Be future-oriented and strategic.
Understand legislation and policies impacting on the school department, students and staff.
