About the Role
**As Head of Department, Student Services you will**:
- promote an inclusive culture and practices within the college community to ensure equity and excellence for students with barriers to learning;
- develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with barriers to learning in accordance with related legislation and policies; and
- nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
As Head of Department, Student Services you will have responsibility for:
- working with Deputy Principal (Inclusion) to lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support in relation to students with barriers to learning;
- assisting the Deputy Principal (Inclusion) in collaboratively and strategically leading an interdisciplinary team comprising of an Inclusion Administration Officer, Specialist Support Coordinators (teaching team), EAL/D Specialist teachers and teacher aides to deliver responsive support to students and classroom teachers;
- providing high quality advice to the college leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with barriers to learning;
- coordinating and providing intensive targeted support for students requiring intervention;
- providing, supporting and/or coordinating case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments.
