The role
The Principal Policy Officer is responsible for collaborating with relevant areas within Queensland Health, across government and with external stakeholders to deliver high-quality strategic support, guidance, and advice for, and to, health statutory agencies.
**This role offers and exciting opportunity to**:

- manage key projects such as significant appointments and board development forums and activities
- prepare high-level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence, and reports with exceptional attention to detail
- undertake compliance audits, research and environmental scanning and analysis as needed
- build and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders including key officers within health statutory agencies
- contribute to continuous improvement activities.

The successful person
**To be considered for this role you will**:

- be able to demonstrate high level knowledge of strategic policy, legislative requirements, planning processes and other whole-of-government requirements relevant to health statutory agencies (or the ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge)
- be able to demonstrate the ability to diligently coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities and achieve results within tight deadlines
- have proven high-level written and oral communication skills, including developing strategic policy advice on complex and sensitive issues
- be able to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders
- be able to demonstrate sound project management skills and experience in projects within large, complex service delivery environments
- demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- demonstrate the behavioural competencies outlined in the role description, namely: lead strategically; drive accountability and outcomes; demonstrate sound governance; build enduring relationships; and pursue continuous growth.
