We are seeking a Compliance Specialist - Regulatory to provide expert advice and support in line with the Financial Accountability Act and other key regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring FAR Accountable Persons understand their obligations, managing regulatory registers, and supporting governance forums. Your work will help strengthen RAC’s risk culture and compliance framework.
As part of our Business Risk & Compliance team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring RAC Insurance meets its regulatory obligations while enabling great member experiences.
This role is available on a Permanent Part Time basis, working 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise Accountable Persons on their documented accountabilities and risk management strategies.
- Provide guidance on compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison between business areas and the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) Office Committee.
- Support governance processes, including preparing agendas, minutes, and reports for risk and compliance committees.
- Maintain regulatory registers, including Accountable Persons and breach notifications.
- Notify regulators (ASIC, APRA) of key events, including personnel and entity profile changes.
- Manage and update compliance-related policies, procedures, and enterprise risk systems.
What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience in risk, compliance, or legal advisory roles within financial services or general insurance.
- Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and communicate compliance requirements effectively.
- Experience managing governance forums, committee meetings, and regulatory reporting.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of financial services legislation including the Financial Accountability Act, ASIC Regulatory Guidelines, and APRA Prudential Standards is highly desirable.
- Qualifications in compliance, law, risk management, or a related field is desirable.
