**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
We are currently seeking a Horticulture Grower - Nursery to join our “growing” team in Warragul The Horticulture Grower - Nursery is responsible for assisting in the development, management and implementation of the growing strategies in order to achieve relevant KPI’s and quality requirements for a specific crop.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to):

- Management of team, including recruitment, induction management and training.
- Conducting annual performance appraisals for all direct reports.
- Management of rostering and labour hours.
- Management and delegation of workloads and weekly work orders.
- Managing work health and safety processes and reporting including supervising high-risk duties, management of dangerous goods, SWMs, SOPs, Risk Assessments, monitoring hygiene protocols and equipment maintenance.
- Implementation of the crop memo strategies in relation to irrigation, growing environment, crop care ad IPM.
- Maintain and evaluate records of nursery activities such as propagation, IPM monitoring, grafting, blocking on, pinching etc.
- Maintaining and evaluating records of nursery activities, including monitoring market activity, and planning crop preparation and production to meet contract requirements and market demand.
- Planning / Coordinating nursery crop forward-planning in association with the Senior Grower - Nursery.
- Develop and implement climate risk management strategies.
- Perform/Assist with nursery tasks to ensure allocated timeframes are achieved.
- Forklift operations.
- Manage waste removal.
- Operate nursery equipment and train staff on the safe use of this equipment. Supervise operation.
- Directing and overseeing general nursery activities such as fertilising and pest and weed control
- Create and maintain order plans for the distribution of product.
- Use SAP to create sales orders, invoices and production orders.
- Undertake maintenance and parts requests as required.
- Stock control.
- Budgeting activities including budgeting for labour to meet demand.
- Manage/Maintain growing environment using grower/climate control software.

**ABOUT YOU**:
**Skills & Experience**:
We are seeking a motivated, safety conscious individual with the following experience and attributes:

- Minimum Cert III or IV in Horticulture/Agriculture plus 3 years’ experience OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience in all responsibilities/activities shown above.
- Experienced in leading a team and/or training, coaching and influencing.
- Current Forklift license
- Sound numeracy skills.
- Ability to work in warm climate (23-30 degrees).
- Physically fit for the inherent requirements of the role.
