An opportunity for an experienced and passionate Safety Specialist has presented to join the team of one of the country's leading healthcare organisations. Working across a number of their sites in Frankston/Mornington Peninsula region in Melbourne.

**About the Role**
Working closely with and forming part of the wider People and Culture team, you will have a key objective to develop and implement best practice WHS strategies to increase capability and capacity of teams in order to manage a board risk portfolio with a key focus on Manual Handling.

Duties will include:

- Provide high level advice, guidance and support to management and staff on all facets of the Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing function.
- Coordinate and assist with the continued development of the Manual Handling program, provision of advice, training and assistance on all manual/materials handling and safety matters.
- Investigation of serious manual handling injuries or incidents.
- Develop and implement tools, procedures and practices that support the provision of Manual Handling service excellence and the education and training.

**About You**
To see you successful in this role it is imperative you are a people person, demonstrating excellent stakeholder management skills and holding personal values in high regard. You will:

- Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing proactive solutions to Workforce Health & Safety risks and needs, with a particular focus on Manual Handling.
- Be a solid and effective communicator with the ability to add polish and professionalism when dealing with stakeholders at various levels.
- Have the ability to work under pressure to multiple demanding timelines coupled with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Technically you have solid experience in a similar role. You will have an understanding of the OHS Act & regulation as well as Australian Standards along with experience in manual handling.
- Previous experience in Health care and or a related industry will be also highly regarded.
