Work, Health and Safety Specialist

A newly created opportunity has arisen to appoint a **Work Health and Safety Specialist** in a hybrid capacity working from home and our head office in Notting Hill, Melbourne.
As the Work Health and Safety Specialist you will:
- Partner with key stakeholders across the business to develop, review and maintain robust health and safety systems and policies.
- You will provide expert advice and support to the GM HR, ensuring Olympus meets its work health and safety obligations.
- You will partner closely with the Work Health and Safety Committee, focusing on the development and implementation of reporting procedures.
- You will have the ability to identify and assess risks along with the ability to implement appropriate controls and measures.
- You will provide advice to managers and employees as well as analyse training needs across the organisation to enable skills development.
- Lastly, as a member of the HR team, you will be open to help and support at a generalist level with other HR and facility tasks as required.
This is an exciting opportunity to partner with management to champion the development of an effective safe work culture.
Reporting to the General Manager HR, this role forms part of the Olympus Australia and New Zealand HR Team.

**What we are looking for**:
You will consider yourself to be a supportive and proactive business partner with intellectual competence across commercial business needs. To be considered for this role you will have:
- Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety frameworks, regulations, legislation and reporting requirements (Aus) and ideally, with Health and Safety at Work Act (HSW Act) (NZ)
- Able to interpret relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice to inform recommendations.
- Ability to interpret data and make sound recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Highly motivated, team player who works well independently
- Data-driven mindset, numerical and high attention to detail
- Strong organisation and documentation skills
