About us
The Integrity, Legal and Law Reform group (ILLR) supports the Attorney-General and DJCS ministers to deliver criminal and civil law policy responsibilities by providing legal, policy, integrity and assurance expertise to DJCS and Justice Ministers. We work collaboratively with key entities across the justice system and the department to ensure policy reform is strategic, relevant, holistic and people-centred.
Within ILLR, Justice Policy and Legislation (JP&L) leads policy development and law reform across civil and criminal law, including the delivery of the Attorney-General's (and other justice Ministers) legislative reform program and national reform projects through the Meeting of Attorneys-General.
About the role
The Legal Policy Officer, within Justice Foundations, is responsible for contributing to the co-ordination, research, development, implementation, review and reform of policy and legislation across the Attorney-General's portfolio. You will be joining an inclusive and supportive group and will be provided with a range of training and development opportunities.

About you
- Knowledge and experience of processes for development of policy and legislation within a parliamentary system
- Understanding of the laws relating to criminal procedure or evidence, or family violence, intervention orders or family law
- Strong policy skills and experience, or skills and experience in an associated field (for example, in legal practice)
- Effective writing skills to assist with preparation of project briefs, policy reports and recommendations.

2. Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
