What is the role?

As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
ACT Policing Human Resources is a high tempo and adaptive environment responsible for the management and delivery of HR services including; Injury Prevention and Management, Rostering, Advisory, Workforce Planning, and Recruitment.
As a Team Leader in ACT Policing Human Resources, your primary responsibilities include:
- Manage the outputs of a team, responsible for delivering core human resource deliverables to ACT Policing Executive and workforce
- Ensure both individual growth and succession planning through developing capability within the team
- Enable continuous business and process improvement through the provision of guidance and leadership to the team and internal business area stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with Team Leader counterparts, both within ACT Policing Human Resources, broader Corporate Services and the operational business areas to contribute to ACT Policing outcomes
- Implement AFP corporate and local Human Resource initiatives
It should be noted that as a Team Leader within ACT Policing you may be regularly rotated into various roles, such as:
Team Leader, Workforce Management & Reporting
In this role, you will contribute to ensuring a fully resourced workforce for ACT Policing. This will be achieved through managing a small team responsible for delivering HR and workforce profile reports, organisation resource forecasting and monitoring, and the Secretariat function of ACT Policing Workforce Management Committee.
**Role Requirements**:
Ability to adapt priorities and respond to urgent and ad-hoc requirements
Highly analytical ability and demonstrated attention to detail, with experience reporting to Senior Executive
Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including capability building and effective stakeholder engagement
Team Leader, HR Advisory & Rostering
The Team Leader, HR Advisory and Rostering, manages the largest team within ACT Policing Human Resources. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team in the delivery of rostering police resources, including event and emergency management; ensuring HR Governance and Enterprise Agreement compliance; and the provision of sound, accurate and solution focussed HR advice to ACT Policing Executive and the workforce.

Demonstrated experience leading a team and managing high volume outputs in a high tempo, responsive environment
Energy and positivity, proven experience in maintaining healthy morale and motivating teams and stakeholders to achieve results
