This role is office based in Canberra.
**ROLE**
The Security Threat Analyst will work within a small team and contributes to the secure delivery and
future operation of ASIS facilities, from inception to completion, including informing supply chain risks and
management strategies. Responsibilities will include advice and support to internal project security and
property teams, including defensive counter intelligence tactics, supply chain analysis, risk assessment and
management, informing the development of mitigations to combat security risk through collation of
relevant data from an all source understanding. Undertaking targeted assessment of hostile entities to
provide an understanding of their capability and intent to target ASIS.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**
Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders, to obtain, correlate, and evaluate the
capabilities and intentions of hostile entities through research, analysis, liaison and leveraging field
expertise. Use this expertise and in-depth technical knowledge to prepare written assessments, and
relevant senior internal stakeholders, to assist strategic direction. Develop a high level of proficiency
and maintain access to relevant all-source intelligence information systems.
Routinely assess how foreign actor capabilities and intentions (including escalation or changes in the
threat landscape) may impact operations and business, and pro-actively communicate this advice to
stakeholders.
Inform supply chain and logistics management mechanisms, including assessing security
vulnerabilities for key project locations, by assessment of suppliers, vendors, materials and processes.
Manage and make effective use of individual and team capabilities to provide a specialist service
focused on project delivery outcomes and requirements.
Assist project teams to undertake strategic planning and set tasks and priorities.
Contribute to project compliance and risk management activities through assessments and periodic
reviews.
Maintain, enhance, establish and promote client/customer relationships, AIC Agencies, relevant
policy stakeholders and decision-makers in the Australian Government.
**CORE SKILLS**
Experience in delivering evidence led security advice to inform project outcomes, organisational
decisions and drive security outcomes and requirements.
Display clear and confident written and verbal communication and the ability to engage and
negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to prioritise, organise and work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, often working to tight
timeframes, while achieving project milestones and deadlines.
Demonstrated capacity for discretion and a high standard of security awareness.
**EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE**
The following education, qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded:
Comprehensive knowledge in and experience providing threat advice;
Qualifications and or extensive experience relevant to security threat and risk;
Qualifications in Security Risk Management; and
High level of proficiency in using all-source intelligence information systems.
