You will join an established team and report to the Regional GM of Safety with a mandate to lead the transformation of our SHE culture. A key emphasis will be on coaching and influencing leaders within the region to develop a safety mindset and to build organizational capability. Although initially focused on operations at our Sydney site there is scope to be involved in strategic projects both nationally and within the region. This is a role that offers clear growth and a career path to the Executive team.
Day to day your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the Safety Management System including coaching and mentoring Managers, conducting audits and record keeping;- Managing site specific safety plans ensuring that all required managers and supervisors are aware of site plan requirements affecting their individual positions and direct reports;- Conducting periodic system verification audits;- Managing incident management, reporting, investigation and corrective actions;- Conducting ongoing training leading to build capability;- Be a part of development of safety strategy and participate in regional and national projects and initiatives.
About you:
You are currently in a Safety leadership role and are looking for your next move into a larger organisation with greater scope. You will also have:
- Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience in a safety leadership role ;- Computer literacy skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, MS Outlook and other programs relevant to this position;- Excellent people development skills to achieve SHE targets via performance management processes;- Excellent communication and reporting skills within the SHE area and within the ‘Key Relationships’ function;- Excellent knowledge of SHE practices including statutory compliance issues;- Ability to actively listen and resolve conflict, as well support, encourage, motivate and direct staff re SHE issues;- Effective time management and organisational skills;- Ability to adapt to and lead change.
