**The Role**
The Australian Defence Force offers more than 150 different jobs, some of which are considered particularly complex and/or high risk from a psychological standpoint, including roles in Aviation, Intelligence, Cyber Warfare, Submarine Warfare, and Special Forces. Applicants for these complex roles undergo targeted psychological assessments as part of their selection process.
The incumbent will manage a small team of APS, ADF and Defence contractors. The position will also be responsible for managing the procurement of the Directorate's labour hire and ICT procurement requirements. The incumbent will liaise with and provide expert advice to the Director and other Team Leaders regarding solutions to their data management issues.
**About our Team**
This data enables the validation and evaluation of policies, procedures and standards that underpin the conduct of the OSA psychology assessment, and the conduct of post-operational mental health surveillance.
These functions are integral to the ADF's ability to optimise its human capability through effective recruitment and management, by (a) ensuring those we recruit are a good 'fit' with both the ADF and their preferred occupation, and (b) contributing to the ADF's ability to manage the mental health and wellbeing of ADF members appropriately.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially the ability to liaise and work with researchers and data managers to develop a sound understanding of their data requirements.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to identify best fit solutions.
- Respond flexibly to changing situations to ensure the success and timeliness of key deliverables.
- Experience building and leading teams, including mentoring and building expertise.
- Knowledge of and experience in procurement and contract management in the ICT environment.
- An understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ to identify any emerging opportunities or threats in relation to your program of work.
