As the **EHS Manager **based in **Clayton, Victoria**, you will provide EHS leadership, advice, and assistance to all employees and SBU’s aligned to the Clayton Manufacturing Site and Technical Teams.
You will drive continuous improvement in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices and standards whilst developing best practices in safety and operations through inspection, audit, investigation, and corrective action.
**Responsibilities**
- Ensure that the site meets all EHS regulatory and business-specific requirements, and flag potential non-compliances and issues.
- Lead the implementation of the site’s EHS policies, procedures, and risk management strategies, while liaising with Senior Leadership Team and various stakeholders.
- Assist with the facilitation of the EHS leadership team meeting at the site.
- Continuously improve the site’s EHS Management system conformance to PPG Corporate requirements through internal audits, including the creation and review of procedures, in addition to driving corrective action closure.
- Ensure that sustainable EHS Management System programs are developed across the site by working closely with EHS direct reports, department managers, and other stakeholders as required.
- Mentor, and coach the site’s EHS Management System Element Owners.
- Ensure site EHS Training system and EHS training plans are in place to meet regulatory and PPG training requirements.
- Monitor and report the completion of all Injuries, Incidents, and Near Misses investigations and Root Cause Analysis conducted during monthly EHSLT meetings.
- Ensure relevant personnel are trained in the proper use of the PPG EHS global database for injury, incident, and near-miss reporting and that it is utilized and maintained.
- Monitor and coordinate to ensure that the annual EHS work plan for Clayton is completed as scheduled.
- Ensure the site has a PPG-compliant PSM program by leading and facilitating the program with element owners.
- Provide technical support to PSM element owners, and recommendations based on the risks identified in the PHA sessions.
- Develop, drive, and manage the site (Chemical, Plant, and JSA) Risk Assessment Program, which complies with legislative & business requirements (Occupational Health and Safety Act).
- Undertake regulatory and PPG reporting as required.
- Ensure all relevant EHS KPIs/reports are completed in full and on time for the site.
- Ensure that Corporate/Regional or local audit finding/s within their responsibilities are closed out within agreed time frames.
- Ensure that the Emergency Management Team is maintained and trained to fulfill their duties.
- Ensure that the annual Industrial Hygiene strategy for Clayton operations is 100% completed and reviewed annually.
- Ensure Environmental compliance at the Clayton facility.
- Other activities as needed by the business.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE, Risk Management, Hazard Management, or similar roles.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, HSE, Risk Management, or Hazard Management.
- A working knowledge of relevant EH&S Acts, Regulations, and Standards.
- Experience utilizing HAZOP, QRA, and WHATIF methodologies is a bonus.
- Demonstrated experience in Process Safety Management or practical industry experience in a process, reliability, or safety engineering disciplines is a bonus.
