Friendly Ashgrive Family Seeks Nanny for Full Days

**Our Family**:

- We are a friendly and warm family who will welcome any nanny into our home and family. We are looking for a dependable and passionate nanny to car for our two boys who will be aged nearly six (at school but needs care in school holidays) and nearly four. Both boys are easy going and fun-loving, curious boys who love being stimulated with art, craft, reading, games, lego and outdoor play. We also have a wonderful au pair from Mexico who lives with us to help with morning and evening routines. Both parents work full time in demanding jobs. A nanny is an integrable part of us being able to achieve this so we need someone dependable who is a good household organiser, is hard working and shows initiative. As a family we love reading, playing board games, Lego, puzzles, cooking and enjoying food of all kinds, swimming, nature walks and visiting zoos and nature parks. We often have picnics on weekends. We have one cat. We want you to know that we really care for our Nanny's and view them as in important part of the family. We always look after our Nanny's. Our last nanny worked with us for over two years and is only leaving because she wants to cut down her number of days (we have several Nannies who can give references for our family). If you are our nanny we will include you in important events like birthdays and will also ask you to come for dinner etc with our family From time to time. Our view is that Nanny's are an incredibly important part of our family. We respect our Nanny's and pay on time. We believe nanny's do an incredibly important job of looking after and teaching our kids and we will. Never quibble over money or resent paying our nanny. Basically we are excellent employers amd will treat you with respect. If you are the right fit then you would have a secure job for at least till the end of 2025.

**Your Duties**:

- Warm, friendly with a good sense of humour - Dependable (we both work full time) and hard working, committed and passionate about caring for children. - Loves children and enjoys nannying - Creative (loves stimulating kids with crafts, arts, other activities) - Sun safe (always sunscreen and hats when going outdoors) - Calm and collected under stress - Excellent communicator (communicates when uncertain or if worried about child) - Understanding of attachment and gentle parenting and respectful parenting (able to see things through child's eyes) - Sets good boundaries and uses calm forms of discipline that are still respectful of children - Willing to look after children if they are mildly unwell - Fully vaccinated including influenza and covid. - Ideally has a first aid certificate. - Focusses on being present with children, not on phone all the time - We are open minded to ethnicity and culture. We would love you to teach our kids about your language and culture if you identify with another culture/ethnicity/language - We do not use much screen time in our family and prefer to read to kids and engage them in creative play or learning. No screen time during day. - Cleans up after herself and the kids (puts toys away etc) so we don't come home to a Mess - Cooks a meal each day for evening dinner. Happy for you to cook your own recipes, or use meal kits. We have heaps or recipe books and a Thermomix. Meal planning would be great for our dinners and you can use our card to buy groceries. We have some favourite meals too. - Our three year old needs help with toilet training. - Brushing kids teeth in morning. - Blue card

**Our Perfect Caregiver**:

- Dropping five year old at school in Indoorapilly. we try to do some drop offs) - Needs to have driving licence (can use our family vehicle) - Caring for three year old boy during the day - Taking three year old to music class once a week, and a playgroup class once a week. Next year would need to pick up and drop off at kindergarten near our house. - We need the evening meal prepared each day (happy to be guided by you or use meal prep kits) - Supermarket shopping and light chores like getting stuff from chemist etc - Tidying up after children's play so that the house looks presentable when we return home from work - Helping with readers and sight words
