Youth Support Worker

**About the role - Casual**

The Youth Support Worker provides compassionate, trauma-informed support to vulnerable young people in a residential setting. The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment, promoting independence and life skills, and empowering youth to achieve positive outcomes. You will work closely with a dedicated team to deliver person-centred care that supports young people on their journey to stability and wellbeing. It’s a rewarding position for someone dedicated to making a meaningful difference.
- Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:_
- Providing trauma-informed, person-centred support to vulnerable young people in a residential setting.
- Creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and home-like environment.
- Supporting young people to develop independent living skills and follow individual care plans.
- Contributing to team operations through accurate documentation, communication, and participation in meetings and training.

You are a compassionate, reliable, and adaptable team player with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people. You demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity, and you’re dedicated to continuous learning and providing person-centred, trauma-informed care. Your ability to build trusting relationships helps empower young people to develop independence and resilience.
- You will also have the following skills and experience: _
- Certificate 4 in Child, Youth and Family Interventions, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field.
- Previous experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk young people.
- Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities in the provision of support services.
- Demonstrated ability and experience to work within a team environment.
- Ability to practice appropriate level therapeutic interventions
