**THE OPPORTUNITY**
We are looking for an exceptional HR Adviser to join our Human Resources team in Sydney. While the groups we support vary, key responsibilities will include:
- Support HR Business Partner in all Australian offices as they work closely with their client groups to plan and deliver HR solutions that align people with the goals and objectives of the group (eg, talent, performance reviews, remuneration reviews, promotion processes, etc) and managing routine ‘staff movements’ (eg, terminations, parental leave, leave of absence, secondments, transfers etc)
- Provide staff with general HR policy advice (e.g. annual leave, parental leave)
- Support HR Manager with cyclical events such as the remuneration and talent reviews
- Work with HR Centres of Excellence (eg, HR Operations, Recruitment; Reward; International Mobility) to deploy Herbert Smith Freehills initiatives across the national offices

Our HR Adviser role will suit HR professionals who are keen to develop their HR skills in a supportive environment that is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to their stakeholders. An individual with a positive, can-do attitude, and a willingness and aptitude to learn and develop is key to the success of this role.
To be successful in this role, you will also have:
- Business degree in HR or equivalent is desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across all levels of the firm both verbally and in writing
- Strong leadership potential demonstrated by upholding ethics and values
- Experienced in dealing with ambiguity and adapting to changing circumstances
- Experience managing multiple clients and multiple stakeholders
- Networks and builds positive and genuine working relationships internally and externally
- Strong client service focus, whilst maintaining confidentiality
- Strong team ethic, able to work collaboratively in a team
