**About Anaesthesia, Perioperative & CSSD/Surgery, Anaesthesia & Procedural Medicine**

The Austin Hospital Operating Suite includes 11 operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms, 2 endoscopy rooms, a Post Anaesthesia Recovery Unit (PARU) with high dependency patient facilities, and a Surgical and Endoscopy Centre (SAEC) including up to 12 twenty three hour beds to care for day surgery and day of surgery admission (DOSA) patients. 20,000 surgical and endoscopic procedures are undertaken per annum.

The Service provides a broad range of elective and acute surgical procedures including liver transplant and cardiac surgery with the acute service for emergency surgery available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The elective service operates Monday - Friday only. The Austin Hospital Operating Suite has a strong commitment to professional development and education of staff. Our aim is to ensure that patients receive excellent care at all times.

**About the role**

As one of 30+ Operating Theatre Technicians ( O.T.Ts. ) you will support and be part of the Perioperative team. The role is fulltime grade 5 rotating roster position.

A regular day will see you: Allocated to one of our theatre teams to carry out the duties of a G5 OTT, maintain the operating theatre environment and deliver a high level of care to our patients. This includes as an example.
- Preparing the operating theatre for the scheduled list.
- Positioning of the patient and assisting during the procedure.
- Cleaning of the operating theatre, procedural equipment and devices.

**About you**

As a Operating Theatre Technician Grade 5, You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

- A certificate 4 in Operating Theatre Support or equivalent.
- 12+ month experience as a OTT grade 5, in an organisation offering multi-specialty services
- The ability to work as part of a highly skilled team effectively.
- The ability to maintain ongoing education and work in the framework of the national standards.
