**About**Youth Early Psychosis Service (YEPS)**:
YEPS is a specialty programme of the Infant, Child, and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS). YEPS is a multi-disciplinary team that provides early intervention and treatment to young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis and live in the Banyule and Nillumbik local government areas. YEPS case managers provide evidence-based, phase-specific treatment for young consumers and support to their families or carers and utilise the Austin Health Early Psychosis Treatment Guidelines. The service operates within business hours.
The team office is in Heidelberg. Travel will be expected between campuses as required and in an outreach capacity for the purposes of fulfilling the needs of the allocated caseload.
**About the role**
The Team Leader is a senior clinician who reports directly to the Program Manager Central Community and Specialist Teams who, alongside their reduced caseload, will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical functioning and leadership of the team in partnership with the Consultant Psychiatrist and Program Manager Youth Outreach Program. The role will include workload management, support of staff in clinical decision making, orientation and retention.
Together with the Program Manager they will contribute to the development of clinical and operational systems within the team. The team leader will provide active service delivery carrying a case load.
The successful applicant will contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of enhancements to the model of care for youth ensuring practice is in line with contemporary evidenced based mental health models of care and current Victorian initiatives including the Recovery Framework.
**About you**
You will be someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, who takes a supportive team approach to their work. You'll have strong organisational and time management skills, as shown by a dynamic and flexible approach to time and caseload management.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant professional qualification in a health-related discipline (social work, occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or speech pathology) and current registration with the relevant professional board, Association or College.
- Must meet minimum years of clinical experience for a Team Leader role according to the Enterprise Agreement, specific to experience with children and young people within a tertiary mental health setting.
- A current Victorian Driver’s License (without restrictions), and ability to drive a work vehicle.
- A current Working with Children’s Check (without restrictions).
- Experience in working systemically with children and adolescents who have mental illness and difficulties engaging in recovery, as well as their families and their system of care and support, including individual, outreach and carer-focused clinical services
- Knowledge of recovery and collaborative clinical practice including complex crisis assessments and clinical formulation and diagnosis informed by a developmental/systemic perspective
- Experience in developing individualised service plans for the mental health case management and therapeutic treatment of young people and their families/carer systems
