**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
- Mercy Hospital for Women is a leading tertiary healthcare centre based in Melbourne. We are a major public hospital and specialist referral centre caring for private and public patients across specialist gynaecology, oncology, maternity, neonatology, perioperative and women’s health services and are a leader in research and teaching.
- This role provides clinical leadership and clinical support to the nursing and multidisciplinary teams in the Specialist Gynaecology Clinics (SGC). Ensuring the provision of high level nursing assessment, planning and management of patients attending ambulatory specialist gynaecology clinics.
- As a Clinical Nursing leader you will possess expertise in the area of Specialist Gynaecology. You will lead, strengthen and grow Specialist Gynaecology clinics at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg.
- You will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide clinical and some managerial leadership for day to day operations. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality evidence based clinical practices.
The Team Leader will form an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team that is responsive to the needs of all the Specialist Gynaecology Disciplines.
- As the full time Team Leader you will;
- Lead and develop nurses in SGC to provide evidence-based care
- Work with senior leaders to provide strong leadership and clear communications
- Coordinate and monitor the day to day operations of SGC
- Monitor standards of service and practice through clinical indicators and consumer satisfaction results
- Support and participate in the ACHS accreditation process and assessments and contribute to relevant divisional Quality and Clinical Risk Management programs.
- Participate in development and implementation of a recruitment, retention and succession plan to achieve skill mix profile and FTE requirements
- Ensure that patients and consumers are actively involved in relevant planning and decision-making processes.
- Provide advice and education to the wider hospital as required.
**ABOUT YOU**:
- Registered Nurse with AHPRA with three years of relevant and appropriate clinical experience in Specialists Clinics within an ambulatory setting
- You are a passionate experienced Nursing leader
- You have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes
- You have excellent organisational skills, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
- You hold a Post graduate qualification in Women’s Health or Continence Nursing or a relevant Masters qualification or plan to work towards same
- Desirable or strongly recommended _
- Evidence of involvement in, and understanding of principles of research and/or evaluation
