Your role

We are looking for committed Casual Allied Health Assistants to join our dedicated and supportive team providing vital clinical and administrative support to physiotherapists, occupational therapists, other therapy and nursing staff as required. Our Allied Heath team provides a variety of inpatient and outpatient services.

The Position:
- Provide clinical assistance to the physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing and other health care professionals as required.- Actively monitor the environment and implement safe work practices to ensure patient and staff safety.- Participate in staff education programs as required and comply with hospital and department policies and procedures.- Supervise and assist patients in exercise routines, gait activities and daily living activities as directed by the treating allied health care professional.- Assist with patient treatment as required.- Assist with patient transfers, dressing and showering in hydrotherapy (if applicable).- Identify client circumstances that need additional input from the Allied Health Professional and communicate this in clinical handover.- Be aware of contraindications, precautions and hazards relating to specific patient management.- Ensure that infection control procedures are strictly adhered to in all areas.

You will hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or have suitable experience in a similar position or currently completing tertiary studies in an Allied Health discipline.

To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to relate to others in a sensitive and professional manner.
