**Job Description**:
The Data Strategy Manager is an integral part of BlueScope’s growing global Transformation function, that champions Our Purpose, and supports the development of smart solutions that empowers our business and customers further.

In this role, you will lead the creation, implementation and oversight of BlueScope’s enterprise data strategy and governance framework, working closely with the Global Manager, Digital and Data Platforms.

**The Opportunity**

In this role, you will operate across business units, digital and technology teams, and countries, navigating technical and business complexities, to establish data frameworks, process, and systems, supporting BlueScope’s vision for enhanced data usage and decision making.

You will shape, define, and contribute to policies that govern and outline how data is owned, captured, processed, stored and shared inside and outside BlueScope.

Improve data discovery, observability, and quality across the group by creating and maintaining relevant data strategies.

Champion the importance of data across the group, including contributing to and leading forums within the broader digital and data community as well as external partners, to deliver value through enterprise data practises.

Keeping up to date on and sharing insight on trends in the data engineering and analytics spaces.

**What are we looking for?**

We’re expecting you to be a proactive and reliable team player, who is able to build trust and meaningful relationships across a global organisation. You will have hands-on data strategy, governance, and architecture experience to go along with your passion for complex problem solving. You will need to display resilience to operate within a developing, greenfields, data environment, progressing towards better operating governance and standards.

You are a tertiary-qualified practitioner with hands on experience in cloud platforms, data systems, governance and architecture frameworks. You may have professional services/consulting experience or have worked in complex, enterprise organisations.

**Work Environment**

Location is Melbourne. Travelling domestically to other states may be required occasionally, within Covid-19 company guidelines.
