**The opportunity**

Right now, we have an opportunity for an **Information Specialist** to join us in Corporate Services Division of Transport for NSW. This is a Permanent full-time opportunity. Though the base location for the role is Macquarie Park, we offer flexible working arrangements.

You will join a team of information specialists who provide electronic and physical information services across the Transport cluster. The Information and Records Management team provides services including archiving and disposal, storage and digitisation of information, information governance, information and records consultancy, and delivers information management projects to Transport agencies. Our team provides electronic and physical information management services and solutions to ensure Transport information is managed appropriately, enabling staff to be productive.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide operational support and best practice advice to ensure safe custody and proper preservation of Transport information and records. This role is focused on supporting digital systems that are used to create, collaborate, and store Transport information. You will liaise with and support internal clients right across the Transport cluster, providing solutions to ensure information is easier to find, use, manage and preserve.

**What you will be involved in**:

- Providing innovative information management solutions and advice which embeds best practice information / records management for our clients.
- Plan, draft and implement appropriate support, advice and training, policies, standards, and procedures on archival, records management and information systems best practice.
- Develop strategies to ensure records are maintained in compliance with the State Records Act and other relevant legislation.
- Work with and support business units and teams across the Transport cluster to understand and document their local business rules to ensure they align to TfNSW Records Management Framework.
- Design and support business processes and develop strong and supportive relationships with clients providing tailored business unit specific advice.
- Provide training on best practice information and record keeping processes and procedures, and records management systems.
- Work with clients in assessing their needs in terms of business benefits and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Advise and assist in record management audits and legislative inquiries conducted internally and by external agencies.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Sound knowledge of contemporary records management processes and requirements, best practise procedures and applicable legislation, including experience with electronic information and records management solutions
- Experience in the analysis and documentation of business processes leading to the development of appropriate information solutions.
- Sound analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
- A curious and open / growth mindset and a willingness to learn and grow, develop and share your knowledge and experience both within the team and with our clients.
