**About Us**:
The Personal Injury Commission (Commission) resolves disputes between people injured in motor accidents and workplaces in NSW, insurers and employers.
The Commission is an independent statutory tribunal within New South Wales, committed to providing a transparent and independent dispute resolution service.
Resolving disputes justly and efficiently in the shortest time frame is a priority for the Commission. We work with all parties (injured persons, insurers, and employers, where relevant) to discuss ways of achieving this.
The Commission exercises functions in two divisions - the Motor Accidents Division and the Workers Compensation Division, comprised of Members, Mediators and Merit Reviewers.

**About the role**:
The Paralegal will provide essential high-quality paralegal, clerical services, and administrative services as part of a team who support the Commission’s Division Heads, Members, Mediators and Merit Reviewers.
The role reports into the Commission’s Presidential Unit, providing support to the Unit’s Principal Lawyer as required.
**Your Responsibilities will include**:
- Providing executive support to Division Heads to enable them to be highly effective, including planning and preparing meetings/events, legal seminars and conferences, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, diary management and drafting and reviewing correspondence.
- Acting as a professional point of contact with staff and the Commission’s Members, Mediators and Merit Reviewers by responding to written and verbal enquiries, liaising with required internal/DCS stakeholders on their behalf and providing information and advice in an effective and responsive manner.
- Assisting in the recruitment actions of the Commission’s Members, Mediators and Merit Reviewers.
- Undertaking legal research and assisting with the drafting of documents in accordance with relevant legislative and policy guides.
- Proofreading/reviewing documents in accordance with legislative/policy guidelines and style guides.
- Assisting in the conduct of the Commission’s Stood Over List, utilising the Commission’s case management systems to review matters and drafting orders/certificates.
- Attending and minuting Member, Merit Reviewer and Mediator meetings/reference groups.
- Manage booking requests for use of the Commission’s sessional chambers.
- Contribute to group project work to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved on project plans, milestones and deliverables.
**About You**
- Do you have high level organisational, planning, communication and interpersonal skills?
- Do you have experience in understanding legislation and undertaking legal research, and hold knowledge of courts and tribunal administration, practice and procedure?
