- $73,561 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - From Level 3 to Level 4 of the MBRC EBA4 Certified Agreement
- 9 day fortnight
- 72.5 hour fortnight
- Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

Council's Project Management Department annually delivers $250M of Capital/Operational Programs/Projects, Project Management approximately deliver 550 capital/operational projects ranging from $10k to $20M per year. These programs/projects include municipal asset classes of Roads, Drainage, Coastal Engineering, Buildings, Sporting Facilities, Bridges, Playgrounds, Parks, Waste Facilities, Transportation and Aerodrome. These programs/projects include all project stages of Project Development/Planning, Preconstruction/Design, Procurement and Construction.

Project Management contracts a significant portion of the Council’s Capital Projects Program (CPP) annually. Project Management have project involvement on capital funded projects from conception to completion.

**About our opportunity**

As our Commercial Officer you'll be providing sound financial advice on financial matters to management and staff, and ensuring all advice is in accordance with current accounting practices, standards, legislation, government guidelines, and Council’s strategic plan, operational plan, policies and procedures.

You'll have the opportunity to implement controls and processes in place within council to reduce the risk of financial non-compliance, and ensure the integrity of the data recorded in council’s financial systems is maintained by creating appropriate reporting mechanisms and completing periodic reconciliations.

In addition you will:

- compile and enter information from relevant data sources into Council’s system
- assist in the timely and accurate financial assessment of contract progress claims to meet contractual obligations
- contribute to a positive team environment in order to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture.

**About you**

You'll be using your excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the organisation with a strong focus on providing quality customer service. You'll have strong time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
- You will hold Tertiary Qualification in Accounting and/or Commerce or demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role._
