**Job description**

**Responsibilities**
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine the setup requirements and machining processes.
- Set up and calibrate milling machines, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to tolerances.
- Select the appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material properties and project specifications.
- Load and secure workpieces onto the milling machine, ensuring proper clamping and alignment.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings during the machining process to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Conduct regular quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., callipers, micrometers) to verify conformance to specifications.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling to correct deviations or issues in the machining process.
- Program CNC milling machines, if applicable, using G-code or CAM software.
- Troubleshoot and address machine malfunctions or irregularities to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of milling machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to optimise production processes and meet project deadlines.
- Document work performed, including material used, time spent, and any issues encountered, for proper record-keeping.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Milling Machinist or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful machining projects.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating vertical and horizontal milling machines.
- Knowledge on **FANUC** controller powered **WinMax**.
- Knowledge of machining principles, including cutting speeds, feeds, and tool selection for different materials.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Basic programming skills for CNC milling machines will be an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions closely.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy materials or workpieces.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

**Salary**: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Morning shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

Ability to Relocate:
