**Role Summary**
You will regularly perform multi-faceted analysis and solution facilitation including coordinating large, long-term and/or complex projects that can span across multiple processes and regions. Additionally, you will partner with regional Client Service and Agile teams to design, lead or contribute to new product or service implementations, solution complex queries or enhancements, and serve as a liaison to related product and client areas.
This role will play a leadership role either directly or indirectly managing teams. The Engagement Specialist will represent the Derivatives Practice by facing off to clients, market participants, industry groups and senior management. You will serve as a technical expert providing advanced support to clients and partners and may have direct client coverage responsibility.
**What you will do**
- Works with regional Derivatives CS teams as SME to define new client deliverables or improve processes by liaising with Technology, Product Management and Operations to formulate and implement solutions to enhance existing services
- Maintains understanding of regional clients’ support models, strategies and future growth aspirations
- Proactively engages on client/business needs or issues by formulating direct client relationships and participating in strategic and operational forums; identifies impact of changes and processes on staff. Helps facilitate acceptance of change through consensus building
- Directly interacts with clients to lead design and prioritization of client product development and implementation, expanded support model (new business launches) and new service development
- Researches and analyzes complex client inquiries, offering support and providing resolutions as needed
- Leads team discussions and brain storming/knowledge share sessions to share challenges and solutions across the client base while regularly proposing solutions and/or suggestions to improve product offering and level of client service
- Facilitates continuous process review and improvements and pro-actively manages the client change process. Fully evaluates implications of new requirements to existing processes to ensure smooth transitions
- Assist with RFPs, business model analysis, and provide support to sales and relationship teams in pursuit of new business
- Participates in Industry events and has strong linkages within the derivatives industry to monitor and assess growing trends to understand the competitive environment and recommend changes to existing processes or additions to current service offerings
- Provides support for escalation of issues related to complex derivative products. etc.
- Maintains strong working relationship with internal support groups and provide SME input into strategic plans
- Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity while carrying out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
**About You**:
- Thorough knowledge of derivatives products, their structures and behaviors and trade lifecycles as well as a solid understanding of trading, accounting and reporting systems.
- Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and business knowledge and functional expertise
- Understanding of Northern Trust’s Derivatives platform and supporting systems, accounting, and reporting mechanisms
- Understanding of the complete end-to-end lifecycle support processes, business units, products and deliverables to support the Derivatives business
- Understanding of and experience in affecting change via the Agile Framework.
- Previous Business Analyst experience a plus
- Attention to detail and effective organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams
- Excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgement skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and determine needed resources, operating in accordance with the business unit's goals
- Experience in strong control environment with required regulatory protocols
- Strong leadership and organizational skills - project management exposure preferred
