Leading Hand - Construction Worker L4

Due to continued growth across Australia, Georgiou is seeking for experienced Leading Hands to join our project-based civil engineering teams. As a Leading Hand, you’ll be working closely with the Supervisor and assist in supervising project works in a manner that protects safety, health and environment while conforming to quality, budget and time requirements.

**What you’re good at**:
You’re focused, driven and a team player. You are committed to high standards of health and safety, someone with:

- Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand/Supervisory role delivering civil construction projects
- Ability to develop strong working relationship with groups of diverse employees and subcontractors
- A high level of organisational and planning skills, as well as a great eye for detail
- Demonstrated experience in effectively planning, organising and problem-solving together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others
- A commitment to developing and maintaining a culture of safety and health
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Current General Site Safety Induction card (Construction)

**What you’ll do (but not limited to)**:

- Coordinate work and direct workers as per project specifications and directions from Supervisor
- Assist in the project risk assessments as well as workplace and task hazard identification, risk assessments and controls (JSA/SWMS)
- Ensure Safe Work Method Statements are developed, in place and signed to analyse work activities to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate controls are in place
- Responsible to manage, plan, supervise, assist and coordinate activities of the construction works section
- Arrangement of plant, labour and material resources for project
- Direction and monitoring of subcontractors, supplier and plant hire
- Report any hazards or incidents and ensure relevant reports are completed, signed and submitted
- Site inductions, site diaries, daily pre-starts, permits, toolbox talks, time sheets etc. to be completed and submitted
- Advocate for the projects HSEQ objectives, share and adhere to create an exemplary safety culture aligned to the values of 'Safety is My Way'
