Darling Downs Metals is a well-established family run business with a reputation of success. Their business is involved in decommissioning projects and the collection and recycling of metals.

Due to business expansion, they now need an experienced professional to work closely with the business owner to help manage and co-ordinate diverse decommissioning and collection projects.

**The Role**
This is a key, hands-on role working alongside the Managing Director to ensure each project runs smoothly from start to finish. You will accompany the MD to visit mine sites and other locations to understand their needs and assist with operating machinery.

The travel involved with this role will offer you variety and the opportunity to visit regional areas.

You will liaise with external suppliers and organise trucks and equipment. You will co-ordinate each step of the project and use your initiative to anticipate what’s required and to iron out any potential problems. Your superior organisational skills will ensure the job runs smoothly and that everyone is kept informed, and that contractual and customer satisfaction levels are achieved.

This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who enjoys both the administration part of the role, as well as the travel and being outside in a heavy equipment environment.

**Your Profile**
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Previous experience operating heavy machinery is ideal however not mandatory.
- Experience working closely with and assisting a business owner with their administration.
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to forge great relationships.
- Superior organisational and time management skills.
- Physically fit and able to work within site conditions.
- Ability to accompany the MD and travel on semi-regular overnight trips with rostered work schedules (transport, accommodation and meals provided).
- Current driver’s licence is essential, and an understanding of heavy equipment and relevant tickets is desirable, but not essential.
- Intermediate level in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and project management system.
