My client has engaged Hudson to secure a talented Procurement Officer. You will have the opportunity to work with a highly committed team which in turn will enable you to bring your procurement knowledge, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills to the role.
**Role responsibilities**:
- Manage procurement engagement activities including, but not limited to, expressions of interest, requests for information, requests for quotation, requests for proposal, requests for tender, supplier negotiations and contract development and execution
- Manage the approval, maintenance and close out of purchase orders, ensuring timely payments and delivery
- Manage supplier negotiations and finalise supplier agreements and purchase orders in accordance with set procedures
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations through effective contract management, including payments, claims, warranties, cash flow, flow down of contract amendments
- Coordinate the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
- Facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach
**Skills and Experience**:
- Demonstrated experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain
- Demonstrated experience in the development and negotiation of straightforward contracts with key suppliers
- Degree qualified (Engineering, Project Management, Commerce, Law or Business Management preferable) - desirable
- Demonstrated ability to run reports and interpret data
- Ability to form strong working relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to contribute to the resolution of procurement issues
- Ability to act as a 'Self Starter' with some close supervision
- Demonstrated performance as a team member to achieve organisational objectives, showing flexibility to accommodate changing priorities
- Sound commercial acumen with a proven capability in negotiation
- Demonstrated experience in software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Word and Oracle
- Must be an Australian Citizen and reside in South Australia
