**Job Description**:
We're seeking a Safety Leader and Coach to work with our Blue-Collar labour hire company, Toll People, who supply up to 5000 casuals across multiple Warehouse and Transport operations nationally. The Manager, HSE - Toll People role will be based out of our Toll People Sydney Olympic Park office and will provide support and mentoring to their 2 direct reports and the wider team of Recruitment Consultants and Account Managers spanning 12 branches across the country.
The Manager, HSE is responsible for translating Toll Groups HSE strategic plan to support the development and implementation of Business Unit HSE Plans, including the setting, monitoring and reporting of HSE targets and performance indicators.
The ability to influence and engage is essential in this role, to foster effective working relationships with your key internal and external stakeholders and customers. A project heavy role in which you will deliver a variety of projects and initiatives whilst working closely with your Executive General Manager and the teams of consultants, to shape, define and improve systems and standards in collaboration with their business units.
Your remit will include:
- Utilise HSE risk management methodologies and frameworks to drive safe operational labour hire practices that eliminate / minimise critical risks.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership to foster positive HSE cultural change through the implementation of the “Safety Obsessed” Program, HSE audits, Client Risk Management activities.
- Participate in HSE risk management initiatives and programs to control emerging HSE risks.
- Encourage, coach and develop Toll People team members to develop a high performing function.
- Support the delivery and implementation of HSE Programs as required to meet Toll and HSE strategies.
- Engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders, customers and Regulators.
**Qualifications**:
- Health & Safety, Environment, Risk and / or other relevant discipline
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
**Knowledge/Experience**
- 3-5 years practical experience in a HSE leadership role with a focus on people risk in the warehousing and transportation labour hire environment.
- A thorough understanding of the Labour Hire model and exsperience proividing HSE support to this model would be desiered.
- Experience in relationship management of both internal and external clients and business stakeholders.
- Excellent knowledge of HSE training best practice delivery and mapping against qualifications frameworks.
**Technical/Professional Skills required**
- Extensive knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards and management system standards (AS4801, OHSAS18001 & ISO14001).
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement in the interpretation and analysis of HSE legislation and audit criteria.
- Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with fellow team members, senior management, stakeholders and industry experts and write high quality reports for senior and executive management.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others including legislators, external auditors, accreditation bodies, industry experts.
- Identifies opportunities and takes action to build strategic relationships to achieve goals within area of responsibility.
- Superior computing skills, advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
