**About this role**
The Australasia Assurance (HSE) Manager is responsible for implementing and executing the HSE elements of the Australasia Regional HSEQ transformation we are undertaking. The role will provide inclusive and inspiring supervision of the regional HSE team and drive a new era in how we think about HSE, view opportunities and enhance our operational methods of work towards a more human-centric approach to ensure we create a truly sustainable built environment, that protects our people.

**What will I do?**
- Lead initiatives to identify, manage, and mitigate HSE risks, and exploring opportunities to enhance outcomes through technology and innovation. Supervise the day-to-day technical aspects of the regional HSE team and providing guidance and support to enhance the service offering.
- Enhance Arup’s stakeholder (client, industry and supply chain) relationships with the aim of making HSE a competitive advantage.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance of emerging HSE risks and opportunities and monitoring HSE trends to inform policy and framework development.
- Oversee HSE frameworks, leading investigations of serious incidents, and coordinating team assurance activities including assessments, surveillances, and reporting. Oversees input to local pursuit efforts as required ensuring risk management activities are applied and adequate assurance resource allocation is included.
- Lead and develop the regional team, enabling a contemporary approach to HSE through human performance principles and embed a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence.

**What will I bring?**
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in HSE within a consulting or contracting environment and/or a relevant tertiary degree in construction, HSE or risk management fields.
- Strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing and implementing risk-based solutions that leaders are able to act upon.
- HSE leadership experience and an open mindset to transforming traditional HSE ways of working towards a modern human centric approach through safety differently, safety II or HOP methodologies. Extensive working knowledge of HSE legislation and codes of practice
- A member of relevant professional organizations or have significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
- A proven ability to develop successful certified HSE systems and have experience in implementing digitalization and managing complex projects with a user-centered mindset.
