**An opportunity has become available for a Coordinator Strategic Planning to join our team at Georges River Council, based in Hurstville.**

**About the Role**

Georges River Council is seeking to appoint a Coordinator Strategic Planning who will lead, supervise and mentor, in consultation with the Manager - Strategic Planning, the strategic planning team in the delivery of its major functions including:

- The preparation of strategic planning documentation including the preparation of major policy and planning documents, development control plans, and local environmental plans;
- Master planning;
- Transport planning;
- Plans of management;
- Development contributions framework.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Architecture or related discipline and relevant experience at management level
- Demonstrated experience and considerable experience in Land Use Planning
- Demonstrated knowledge of planning legislation and practice
- Demonstrated delivery of strategic land use planning policies and tools to deliver outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in policy development and implementation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, including coaching and mentoring staff and creating a strong customer focus
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills, including the ability to initiate and respond effectively to change
- Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment with mínimal supervision
- Proven organisation and time management skills
- Current Drivers Licence Class C (Car)

**Desirable**
- ** **Knowledge and understanding of local government
- White card
