About the Department:
Department of Queensland International (DEI) is a branch of the Queensland Department of Education, specialising in delivering high-quality educational programs to international students across Queensland's government schools. DEI supports global learning through diverse offerings, including study tours, offshore education programs, and consulting services, fostering cultural exchange and promoting Queensland's education system worldwide.

About the Role:
As the Finance Officer within DE International, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective financial management and operational support for the department. Based in Brisbane, this position involves preparing financial reports, maintaining the integrity of financial systems, and leading a team to achieve key objectives. Reporting to a senior supervisor, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, provide strategic advice, and drive improvements in policies, procedures, and practices to support DE International's goals.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
Assist with the preparation of financial reports and monthly reporting on performance, including reporting against budgets, particularly in regard to investigating and providing advice on complex issues.
Ensure the integrity of DE International's general ledger and reporting by completing necessary reconciliations, raising journal entries and working papers and implementing appropriate policies, systems, procedures and practices.
Contribute to the development of best practice financial policies, procedures and systems in accordance with the requirements of relevant legislation and internal guidelines.
