Our Group Training team specialises in the recruitment and mentoring of apprentices and trainees who are placed with a wide variety of ‘host’ organisations. We are seeking to expand our service offerings to provide high quality and appropriately supported apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for people living with disability.
This exciting role involves collaborating with Maxima’s successful Disability Employment Services team and is initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, based from our **Hindmarsh office**. Regular intrastate travel may be required.
**Some of your key tasks**:
- Servicing our existing internal traineeship program where customers registered with Maxima’s Disability Employment Services team develop skills through placement at one of our office locations
- Provide mentoring and support to apprentices/trainees and their workplace supervisor to ensure that the employment relationship is successful
- Ensuring appropriate relationships with Registered Training Organisations are in place to support trainees and apprentices to develop vocational competence
- Representing the organisation at appropriate forums, promoting our services to potential employers or people with disability seeking an apprenticeship or traineeship
**About You**
- Empathy for people living with disability and a belief in the right of every person to be an active part of the community through employment
- Ability to identify the needs of individuals in the workplace through effective questioning and listening techniques
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise at a variety of levels
- Ability to organise, manage and prioritise tasks to ensure that tasks are completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner
- Ability to work unsupervised and perform well under pressure
**Required Qualifications/Experience**
- Current and extensive knowledge of the Australian Apprenticeship system is required and a working knowledge of Group Training Organisations is desirable
- You must hold a current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- National Police Check and relevant State/Territory working with children check, or be willing to obtain
- Evidence of approved ATAGI COVID Vaccinations, or a valid exemption. as required from the relevant government health authority
