Mid-level Professional Photographer

**About Us**:
We are a creative and trendy inner-city studio based in Chippendale, NSW, looking to expand our small team with a full-time in-house photographer. This exciting and varied role offers tailored responsibilities that align with your career goals, within a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**Production Assistance**:

- Assist in photographing press and e-commerce shots of equipment.
- Act as an on-set assistant during photo shoots, providing hands-on support when needed.
- Design lighting layouts and set up equipment.
- Utilise experience in both digital and analogue film photography, including chemical processing.

**Planning and Execution**:

- Plan, shoot, and edit fashion photography for seasonal campaigns, product launches, lookbooks, and promotional materials.
- Manage all aspects of production, including lighting, camera operation, and directing.
- Seamlessly transition between assistant and lead photographer roles depending on the project.
- Consult with clients to determine the objectives of photographic assignments.
- Primarily work in the studio, with occasional transport and setup for location shoots.

**Creative Contribution**:

- Provide creative input during the pre-production phase as needed.
- Collaborate directly with creative teams and clients, offering creative decisions to enhance project narratives.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions with marketing and design teams to create innovative visuals.

**Studio Management**:

- Facilitate client bookings and site visits.
- Reset the studio after bookings, including cleaning, painting, maintenance, and equipment management.
- Maintain and manage photography equipment to ensure it is always in top working condition.

**Editing and Post-Production**:

- Oversee the editing process, including retouching images, colour correction, and ensuring all content meets brand visual standards.
- Stay updated on current fashion and photography trends to keep visual content fresh and relevant.
- Develop advanced photo editing and retouching skills using industry-standard software.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2 years in photography and retouching.
- Experience in one or more of the following fields:

- Fashion Photography
- Food/Product Photography
- Portrait Photography
- Experience in creating content for social media platforms and websites.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom) and other editing software.
- Strong understanding of light settings, gels, filters, and lighting principles.
- Proficiency in camera settings such as aperture and composition is essential.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Passionate about the photography industry and eager to learn.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of social media trends and content creation.
- Familiarity with Squarespace website editing is a bonus.
- In-depth knowledge of professional photography equipment, including cameras, lighting, and lenses.
- A keen eye for detail, composition, and colour.
- Understanding of film development, chemical processing, and photographic printing is a bonus.
