Timbertop is Geelong Grammar School’s Year 9 full-boarding campus, situated in Victoria’s high country near Mansfield. It offers a comprehensive academic and outdoor education program, designed to take full advantage of the magnificent natural environment to provide a life-changing experience for students. We are currently seeking a full-time Teacher of Outdoor Education and/or an Outdoor Education Instructor to commence as soon as possible.

**About the role**:
The key responsibilities of the Outdoor Education Instructor include;
- Planning and implementing outdoor-related activities
- Communicating with the Director of Outdoor Education about any problems or issues as they arise and provide reports where required
- Assisting in planning for the safety and welfare of all students and staff whilst involved in all outdoor activities - overnight, day trips or multiple day trips
- Coordination of all logistics associated with the programming, planning and running of outdoor activities
- Teaching Outdoor Education classes

**About you**:

- VIT registration and previous teaching experience. Alternatively, consideration may be given to appointing an Outdoor Education Instructor with significant experience in a similar role
- A degree or recognised equivalent qualification in the field of Outdoor Education/Instruction
- An ability to participate in the Timbertop Outdoor Education, running, wellbeing and pastoral programmes
- A high level of physical fitness
- Extensive experience in the specific fields of bushwalking, ideally in the North-East Alpine Region
- Experience co-ordinating programmes along with leading teenagers in the outdoors
- Experience in a Boarding School environment
- Early in career educators are encouraged to apply
